Donnie Vincent
I have been asked to write a short piece about Donnie Vincent who sadly died on Monday 23rd March at home with his beloved family at his side. Those who have been associated with Needham Market FC for some time will remember Donnie as the Club Treasurer, although he fulfilled other roles over the many years he was associated with the club, even back to his playing days. Donnie would have been 100 in December this year and has always been a very respected member of the cl

A DRAW TO END THE LEAGUE SEASON FOR NEEDHAM MARKET WOMEN
Needham Market ended their Eastern Regional league campaign with a battling 1-1 draw away at Toby FC. The conditions were like the ones faced in September’s FA Cup match up with a very dry and bobbly pitch making passing football very difficult and causing chaos as was the case with Ellie Emmerson’s opener. In a second period like the first, Needham hit back from the penalty spot thanks to Megan McCrae-Robinson as a draw seemed a fair result in a game of few chances. The play

Needham Market's nine game unbeaten run was ended by a 2-1 defeat away at fellow play-off chasers Redditch United. With Tommy Smith out ill and Ollie Saunders unavailable through injury, Reserves defender Brad Smith made his maiden first team start and new signing Marcel Lewis was given his Needham debut. Redditch (4') turned into space on the edge of the box, only to shoot straight at James Bradbrook, while the hosts (7') turned a left wing free-kick, by the corner flag, nar

DEFEAT AT HOME FOR NEEDHAM MARKET WOMEN
Needham Market lost their final home match of the League campaign, losing 2-1 to Wormley Rovers. They had a few half chances but never created a big chance in the first period but the same could be said of Wormley but they took their moments from a curling strike by Emma Nolan and then a late penalty from Emily Schofield. Chances were again at a premium in the second, but Jae Lewis-Samuel did pull one back and had a golden chance to equalise as Needham almost salvaged a point

LEAGUE LEADERS BEATEN AT BLOOMFIELDS
Needham Market made it 7 games unbeaten with a professional 2-0 win over league leaders Spalding United. Tom Rothery named an unchanged team from Tuesday's 2-2 draw at Real Bedford. Needham started brightly, as Myles Cowling (4') was fed free through on the left-hand side by Kyle Hammond, who'd broke through down the left wing smartly, only to be brought down from behind in the area with appeals dismissed strongly by the referee. Reggie Lambe (6') was fed through down the lef

BACK TO WINNING WAYS FOR NEEDHAM MARKET WOMEN
Needham Market got back to winning ways with a 4-1 win over Brentwood Town on a pretty horrid day at Bloomfields. The home side built a good lead in the first half thanks to another brace from top scorer Annie Posnett, but all the drama came at the end of the half as first the Brentwood manager was sent to the stands and then his team pulled a goal back thanks to Maisie Kelly. But that did not phase the home side as they killed the game off in the space of several second half

PERFECT AFTERNOON FOR THE MARKETMEN
Needham Market picked up a second straight win, leapfrogging Halesowen Town into sixth following a 3-0 home win. The result leaves the Marketmen outside the playoffs on goal difference, courtesy of a Kyle Hammond brace, taking the versatile defender/midfielder's tally to 3 goals in 2 games, either side of Joe Neal's poachers finish to give the Suffolk side a 2-0 lead at the break.
