I have been asked to write a short piece about Donnie Vincent who sadly died on Monday 23rd March at home with his beloved family at his side.
Those who have been associated with Needham Market FC for some time will remember Donnie as the Club Treasurer, although he fulfilled other roles over the many years he was associated with the club, even back to his playing days.
Donnie would have been 100 in December this year and has always been a very respected member of the club. He was a quiet man, a real gentle man. His work for the club has always been diligent, professional and exact. He was trustworthy in all he did.
I became a friend of the family some years ago and the warmth and friendship extended to me has been a very rewarding experience. Donnie's wife Freda has become a special and dear friend and I have been privileged to be welcomed into their home, chatting with Donnie and passing on match programmes, team sheets and updates on the many improvements that have been made to the ground over the last few years as well as news of the players, staff and fans.
He will be much missed by all who ever knew him and I am proud to be included in that group.
