Needham Market regained the Endeavour Automotive Suffolk Premier Cup, after a 3-0 win over Felixstowe & Walton United, winning it a fifth time in six campaigns.

Tom Rothery made one change from the draw at Quorn, Max Appauh started in place of Seth Chambers.

The Marketmen broke the deadlock from the penalty spot through Reggie Lambe (38') after a foul on Myles Cowling, who got in on the act himself (44') to tap home his 11th goal of the campaign for a comfortable half-time lead.

The Reds controlled proceedings well, with half-time substitute Seth Chambers (54') netting another goal in the cup that he's all too familiar scoring in.

Needham had a good chance, Max Appauh (7') was threaded through past the defence to weave down the right-hand side onto the edge of the six yard but was dispossessed just before he could shoot.

A crucial block denied an on target low block at the other end (9'), before Ollie Saunders drove into space just outside the box only to fire narrowly over the crossbar (12').

The Marketmen remained bright, who went close again on 13 minutes. Dye, high up the right wing, fed Lambe, in turn sliding Cowling through down the right-hand side whose inviting low ball across just evaded Appauh arriving at point blank range.

Hammond (16') sliced a volley wide of the near post after a good cross to the far side, while Hammond's right wing corner (19') into a dangerous area was punched away by right as it swerved goal-wards with Keiran Morphew arriving, prior to a fantastic left wing cross being glanced on by Keiran Morphew towards Saunders arriving at the far post but his effort at point blank range was deflected crucially over (21').

Needham remained on top, successive Hammond corners caused havoc in the Felixstowe six yard box, but the second (23') went just wide.

Lambe jinked onto the left-hand byline before crossing low for Appauh who controlled it well, then spun to shoot but his deflected effort was held by Wright (27').

Needham, still on top, went close again (30'), Hammond was fed free onto the right-hand side whose fierce strike was deflected, although handball appeals were waved away, almost falling for the arriving Appauh but the defence just cleared.

Saunders was released clear on goal (35') but for the defender's last ditch tackle to prevent a clear shot from six yards out, though Needham were awarded a penalty (37').

Tommy Smith's excellent low ball across the six yard box fell to Myles Cowling who was fouled from behind.

Reggie Lambe (38') stepped up and deservedly gave Rothery's side the lead, the ex-professional smartly sent Wright the wrong way to fire home in off the bottom right-hand post!!

Cowling (41') was agin fed through close to goal, but shot just wide at point blank range.

Needham, fully deservedly doubled their lead (44'). Brilliant play saw Saunders, high up the left wing, found Smith who cleverly releases the midfielder through down the left whose low squared ball across the face of goal was turned home by Cowling at the far post, 2-0 Needham.

Half-time substitute Seth Chambers (48') almost made it 3-0, after being slipped through down the left-hand side the striker bared down on goal only to see his close range strike smothered away well by the onrushing Wright.

Needham increased their lead in ruthless fashion (54'). Seth Chambers latched onto a fantastic defence splitting pass to again race clear on goal, although his initial strike was denied by the onrushing Wright the rebound fell through the stopper's legs for the striker to follow up and wrap home at close range from the left.

Needham tested Wright again (60'). Hammond was released through in the area expertly whose low volley was blocked by Wright but the rebound fell just behind the lurking Chambers.

At the other end (64'), a right wing cross was headed at goal at the far post though goalkeeper James Bradbrook was alert to tip the ball over.

After Eddie Barker replaced Lambe (66'), Hammond broke through down the right-hand side (73'), though his fierce shot went just wide into the side-netting.

James Coton was introduced in place of Cowling, as Needham were thwarted a fourth by a good stop from Wright on 77 minutes.

Clever play saw Coton fed on the right-hand side to work space ahead of feeding Hammond, who in turn teed up Saunders just outside the area. The latter's exquisite low curled strike was destined to find the bottom left-hand corner until Wright tipped it wide.

Flynn Bobby (79') made his first team debut in place of Saunders, before Coton (83') was fed outside the area to shift into a shooting position to see his smart shot held.

Brad Smith (85') replaced Dye, as Brad Smith (91') fed Coton free down the right wing to cross low towards Chambers, but for a defensive tackle to intercept with Barker on hand to hold onto the loose ball and turn to shoot, albeit his low shot was blocked.

Needham conclude their Southern League Central Premier Division season at home to Banbury Unitedon Saturday (3pm), knowing a result would confirm a play-off spot.
