The FA Cup odyssey has begun again for Needham Market as they made it through to the final qualifying round after overcoming Suffolk rivals Woodbridge 6-0 at Bloomfields.
Needham were two up at the break thanks to a great Charlotte McGrath strike and one for Mia Etheridge-Golding as they dominated the Suffolk Premier League side.
After the break they added gloss to the scoreline with Lina Nagib scoring another brace before Hayley Kindred scored her first for the club and Etheridge-Golding adding a late sixth.
It took 20 minutes for Needham to break the deadlock and it was a thunderous strike from McGrath as she drilled home from just outside the box after being set up by Nagib.
Lois Balfour nearly added a second, but her attempt went over the bar, but she wasn’t quiet for long as her viciously whipped in corner found the head of Etheridge-Golding.
Woodbridge remained in the game at half time but if they thought they could catch their higher-level hosts on an off day they were given a rude awakening as the visiting goalkeeper was called into action either side the break to keep then in the tie.
It took until the hour mark for the game to be killed as a contest and it was an action replay of the second as Balfour whipped in the corner and this time Nagib was on hand to head home.
And like London buses she bagged a brilliant second about 5 minutes later as she showed great control to beat her defender before curling a trademark beauty over the keeper into the top corner.
Needham added gloss into the last 10 minutes with new signing Hayley Kindred - who was also named Player of the match for an excellent performance - bagging her first for the club with a sumptuous volley after being set up by another Nagib assist.
Etheridge-Golding concluded the scoring with her second, poking home from another Balfour corner -to make it three corner assists - and send the club on their way to the next round as they look to emulate the run to the first-round proper from last season.
