MARKETMEN SIGN VALENTINE ON LOAN FROM IPSWICH TOWN

Needham Market FC are delighted to announce the loan signing of Nico Valentine from Ipswich Town.

The 18-year old, who signed a three year professional deal with the Sky Bet Championship club in October last year, has been a regular in the club's Under-21 team this season, while also scoring in 2 of 4 of Town Under-18's Quarter-Final run in the FA Youth Cup last season - in which they knocked both out Nottingham Forest and Liverpool at home - with the winger scoring in the club's extra-time home defeat to West Ham United.

Valentine, who has been a key feature in Town U21's PL Cup campaign this season, scored in his side's 4-2 victory at Crystal Palace earlier this month and was also part of Town's Under-18 team that won the U18 Professional Development League Cup in 2021-22 - scoring twice in the Final in a 7-0 home win over Coventry City.

Assistant Manager Tom Rothery said, "really pleased to get Nico signed. Will add more depth to the squad and excited to see exactly what he will add to us and where he will fit in but I’m sure his quality will be a nice addition to our squad. Hopefully we will be a good experience for him in his football journey."

Valentine said, "I've been itching to get started ever since the move got confirmed, I'm ready to hit the ground running as soon. I always enjoy getting the opportunity to have different experiences at Ipswich and the two games under the lights at Bloomfields have been my favourite this season so far."
