Horlock’s new signings announced for 22/23

With the new season kicking off away at AFC Rushden and Diamonds on Saturday 6th August, Needham Market FC are delighted to announce five new signings to Kevin Horlock’s First Team.

Ross Crane

After his release from Ipswich Town, Kevin Horlock reacted quickly to get Ross on board. Ross who has previously played at AFC Sudbury and Bury Town before earning a professional contract at Ipswich Town is a talented young player who fits into the Needham philosophy perfectly. Ross is a technical winger who has impressed already with his direct play and fantastic work ethic and should prove to be a huge fan’s favourite.

Harry Knights

Harry has a lot of experience at step 3 despite still being only 23. Previously playing for Leiston and Lowestoft, Harry is a commanding centre half who will add physicality and experience to the young Needham side whilst adding depth to Kev’s defensive options.

Christian Frimpong

Christian is a commanding central midfield player who has previously played at Braintree, Chelmsford City, AFC Sudbury and Lewes. Christian was part of the successful Braintree side who gained promotion to the National league and again at only 23 has a huge wealth of experience at Needham’s level and higher. Christian who as a youngster was at Bristol City Academy has already shown in preseason that he brings a different element to the Needham midfield.

Jamie McGrath

Jamie has signed for Needham after a successful trial period. Having scored 53 goals for East Bergholt in the SIL Jamie has shown during pre season that his attitude and technical ability can be an asset to Needham Market. Again at only 23 Jamie has demonstrated that he has huge potential to grow with the club and team and carry on his goal scoring prowess.

Jacob Lay

Jacob becomes the fifth signing for Horlock after he joined the club on a two year contract from Ipswich Wanderers. Jacob formally with Preston North End on a youth development contract at 16 has since gone on to play for Dereham, Felixstowe and Whitton United before being part of the successful Ipswich Wanderers squad last season who gained promotion. 21 year old Jacob is a skilful wide player who adds more attacking flair to the squad and will again be an exciting player for the Needham Market supporters to watch.
