DICKENS LEAVES THE MARKETMEN

Tom Dickens has agreed to join a National League North club after a compensation fee was agreed between the two clubs. Tom who joined this summer will now join his new club and we wish him all the best for the future. Tom Rothery Needham First Team Manager had this to say on the departure.

I’m really disappointed to be losing Oz but at the same time pleased for him. When we met to discuss him signing for us I spoke about wanting and believing that he could play higher and this is now what’s happening.

My only disappointment is that I got so little time to work with him as he’s a really great lad and a fantastic player, his new club have clearly seen what I saw in him and I truly believe he will have a great season and I also believe he will end up playing even higher, I think this is just inevitable with the attributes and qualities he has.

Whilst we didn’t want him to leave we will never stand in somebody’s way in progressing their career and holding them back. The opportunity for Oz to ply his trade full time was an offer he wanted to take. All the best to him in the future and I look forward to seeing his progression in the game.
