The Marketmen also finish this campaign ranked as Suffolk's highest placed Non-League club, finishing in 12th in the Evo-Stik Southern League Central Premier Division. Needham started brightly and went close early on, Decarrey Sheriff got through down the left wing just a minute in, the on-loan Colchester striker squared across to Gareth Heath running in at the far post, the skipper though puts just wide of the right post. Alvechurch meanwhile had a half-chance at the Needham goal, Carvalho-Landell shooting from 25-yards out on the right but wide of the top far corner on 6 minutes.

Needham then had another early chance on goal eight minutes in, Adam Mills ran through down the centre before releasing Decarrey Sheriff through on the left hand side in the box whose shot was drilled wide of the far post- evading Joe Marsden running in at the far post. The latter then had a shot at goal himself on 10 minutes, Marsden jinked his way through to the tight edge of the box but saw his shot blocked. The reds then went close again on 17 minutes, James Baker's header at the near post was deflected just wide of the near post for a corner. Down the other end, the Needham man prevented a dangerous Alvechurch cross in from the left from potentially being turned into the empty net, heading away the danger on 23 minutes. Needham had another chance with 25 minutes played, Decarrey Sheriff this time set through on the right hand side in the box smashing his low shot straight at the keeper at his near post. Two minutes later, Gareth Heath's corner in on the left was headed clear as far as Match Sponsors' MOTM Jake Dye on the right edge of the box, the right back's volley however went over the bar.

The other Needham full-back was then involved in Needham's next chance to open the scoring, a great cross in from Callum Sturgess dangerously across goal reached Joe Marsden at the far post, the Needham top scorer's (with 20 in all competitions) shot though was blocked on 32 minutes. Sixty seconds later, the Church's throw in found Jamie Willets at the near post, the skipper's header ended up wide of the top right corner. Needham meanwhile, had two further attempts towards goal in a row, Decarrey Sheriff's strike on this ocassion was blocked from the right edge of the box on 39 minutes. Gareth Heath's corner in on the left a minute later picked out Kieran Morphew at the far post, though the centre-back headed wide of the right post.

Three minutes before the break, Alvechurch had a shot at goal from the right, only to blast it over the bar. On the verge of the interval, Joe Marsden tried a low shot from the right edge of the box as a defender deflected it behind the near post for a corner. From which, Needham broke the deadlock, after rebounding off an Alvechurch defender the ball fell the way of Decarrey Sheriff to smash home on the turn from close range at the far post, Needham leading 1-0 at the half-time whistle.
