Harrow Borough 3-2 Needham Market
Griffiths’ double in vain, as Needham lose again
Needham travelled to the Earlsmead stadium on Saturday to take on fellow Ryman League strugglers Harrow Borough. At a ground where the Suffolk side were previously yet to concede a goal, they found themselves 2-0 down after 8 minutes.
After dismal defending, the hosts went ahead on 3 minutes through Ryan Moss’ close range finish.
This lead was soon doubled as Sahr Kabba rifled a shot beyond Danny Gay on 8 minutes. The goal stemming from a good passage of play on the right hand side.

With 63 minutes played Jamie Griffiths pulled a goal back for his side with a powerful header from substitute Jack Simmons’ cross.
5 minutes after this, Griffiths scored his and Needham’s second goal. A strike from just inside the penalty area which went through the legs of ‘keeper Melvin Minter on its way into the net.
Seemingly out of nowhere, Needham had managed to get themselves back into this game.
However, one swift Boro’ attack and the guests went 3-2 behind. Charles Banya broke through the defence, before shooting hard and low beyond Gay in goal on 82 minutes.

A frustrating result which ensures Needham are still perilously close to the foot of the table. It’s clear for all to see that we are in a relegation battle and performances/results have got to improve.
Next Up: The Marketmen face a lengthy trip to Margate on Tuesday evening. Let’s hope the team can put in a strong performance and give the fans some much needed cheer.
