Match report
The Marketmen travelled to Ram Meadow this evening to take on Bury Town, as both teams put their respective Ryman Leagues to one side for this Second Round tie of the Alan Turvey Trophy.

In what was an even opening, it was the hosts who had the best chances to note. Fresh from a goal for Felixstowe & Walton on Saturday, Nick Ingram saw his shot hit the post before rebounding back to James Bradbrook in the Needham goal. Moments after this, his shot was off-target on 15 minutes when well placed as the Blues threatened.

The deadlock was broken on 25 minutes through Ollie Snaith. Hard work from Emmanuel Osei played in the Needham winger and despite Bury goalkeeper Neil O Sullivan saving well initially, Snaith scored at the second time of asking.

A foul on the visitors Ollie Fenn resulted in a free kick on 36 minutes on the edge of the penalty area. Joe Whights resulting free kick was tipped over the crossbar as they sought a second goal.

Half Time: Bury Town 0-1 Needham Market

After the interval and a flowing Bury move saw Ingram and Ryan Jolland combine, before the latter was to be denied by Bradbrook.

Snaith scored his and Needhams second with 53 minutes on the clock. Following on from a set piece, his neat finish nestled into the bottom corner as the Reds had a firm grip on this cup tie.

The game was to have few chances after the second goal. Substitute Josh Mayhew came close to a Bury consolation when he attempted a lob over Bradbrook. However, The Marketmens shot stopper was equal to it, and a clean sheet was just reward for his efforts.

Full Time: Bury Town 0-2 Needham Market

With tonights success, Needham are now faced with an away trip to Ware FC in the 3rd Round with date TBC.
