Match report
The Marketmen recorded an emphatic 5-1 victory against Grays Athletic at Bloomfields this evening.

Needhams Max Booth was given his chance to shine in Manager Mark Morsleys starting line up and he gave the hosts the lead in the 10th minute. Booth converted from close range after neat work from Reece Dobson.

Despite the early goal there was very little between the sides as Grays enjoyed spells of possession and pushed for an equaliser.

On 37 minutes Jack Curtis cross found Michael Brothers in the penalty area but his shot went over the crossbar as the goal beckoned.

The hosts should have most certainly doubled their advantage just before the interval. Luke Ingrams cross found the head of Brothers and his glancing header hit the post.

Just moments later and Grays thought they had drawn level through Menga, but they were to be denied by the linesmans flag as The Markemen ended the first half with a narrow lead.

Half Time: Needham Market 1-0 Grays Athletic

On 53 minutes The Marketmen doubled their advantage through Colchester loanee Jack Curtis. Curtis continues to impress at Needham and his powerful half volley proved too much for Thomas in the Grays goal.

Having scored two goals against Soham Town Rangers this time last week, substitute Manny Osei notched Needhams third goal on 73 minutes.

The lively Reece Dobson continued to cause problems from his usual wide position. Dobson scored a quick fire brace with goals in the 79th and 85th minute as Needham now ran riot to extend their lead to 5-0. Dobsons first was a delightful chip over Thomas which sealed a terrific team move and was much to the delight of the home faithful.

On 88 minutes Appiah Kubis consolation goal made the score 5-1 as Needham were denied their clean sheet.
