A stunning brace from Michael Brothers and another goal from the impressive Jack Curtis led Needham to a 3-0 victory at The Earlsmead Stadium. All three of the goals were scored in a 15 minute period before half time as the Marketmen climb up to 5th in the Ryman Premier table.
In the early stages it was the visitors Danny Gay who was the busiest of the two goalkeepers. Gay was twice called into action to deny Marc Charles-Smith and then Ibrahim Meite as Harrow Borough threatened to take the lead.
Needhams first real chance fell on 23 minutes. Reece Dobson was in behind the Boro defence and his cross from the byline found Jack Curtis whose shot was well saved by debutant goalkeeper Keval Patel.
Moments later, Reece Dobson danced through the Boro defence and his powerful strike rebounded off the crossbar.
The guests had chances of their own and Harrow could have taken the lead when Josh Webbs shot was well saved by Gay.
The lively duo of Dobson and Curtis continued to cause Harrow problems. After neat play from Dobson, Curtis broke the deadlock on 32 minutes and in doing so scored his fourth goal of the season.
A sublime solo effort from Michael Brothers doubled the lead on 38 minutes. His curling strike from distance nestled in the top corner.
On the stroke of half time Needham added a third goal via the boot of Brothers as he scored with a free kick from 25 yards.
Having scored during the week in the 3-3 draw with Canvey Island, Brothers now has three goals in his last two matches.
Half time: Harrow Borough 0-3 Needham Market
In comparison to the first half, the second was somewhat subdued. The hosts looked destined to pull a goal back but both Gay and the woodwork came to Needhams rescue.
With the FA Cup defeat and disappointment now behind them it has been the perfect response from Manager Mark Morsleys side.
