Match report
The Marketmen welcomed Leiston to Bloomfields for this East Anglian Derby and it was the visitors who were thoroughly dominant.

Leiston started brightly and Joe Francis continued his impressive start to the season with two first half goals. The opening goal was struck from outside the penalty area on 9 minutes and it was a strike which left Danny Gay helpless in the Needham goal.

On 13 The Marketmens Reece Dobson and John Sands combined before the latter shot wide of the far post as the hosts looked to hit back immediately.

The talented Joe Francis scored his and Leistons second goal on 17 minutes and it was almost identical to the first. This gave them a very commanding position early on in this game.

Talisman Matt Blake added a third to Leistons tally on 25 minutes as the gulf between the two sides became evident. Blake was then put through on goal just minutes later but his shot was off target.

With minutes to go before half time Joe Whight was denied by a good save from Leiston goalkeeper Nick Eyre.

Half Time: Needham Market 0-3 Leiston

The Marketmen began the second half with a mountain to climb but started strongly. The Leiston defence remained equal to Needhams efforts and it was clear it was going to be a day to forget for the home faithful.

A once Needham target Gareth Heath added a fourth in the second half before misery was compiled for Needham when John Sands was sent off for an altercation.

This win for Leiston means that they maintain their 100% start to the season.

Full Time: Needham Market 0-4 Leiston
