Match report

Pictures from the match
The Marketmen made one change from Saturdays 1-1 home draw against Burgess Hill Town with John Sands in the starting line up as opposed to Colchester Loanee Jack Curtis.

Buoyed by the recent signing of Sands, The Marketmen made the midweek trip to Lowestoft Town and left Crown Meadow with a valuable league point.

Needham took the game to the Blues in the early stages and midfielder Luke Ingram wasted no time in putting the visitors ahead in just the first minute. The ball dropped to Ingram outside the penalty area and he finished superbly into the bottom corner.

Jamie Waite in the Lowestoft goal was the busiest of the two keepers as both Sands and Miller were denied.

Andrew Fisk thought he had levelled for the hosts when he scored beyond Danny Gay, but the effort was ruled out for offside as The Trawlerboys ended the half strongly.

In first half stoppage time Lowestoft scored the equaliser. The lively Rossi Jarvis found Jamie Forshaw and his shot went in off the far post.

Half Time: Lowestoft Town 1-1 Needham Market

Moments into the second half and a long throw into the penalty area found Kieran Morphew, but his shot on the turn went narrowly over the crossbar.

Needham were let off the Trawlerboys hook when Morphew was dispossessed. Jarvis and Forshaw combined once more, only for the latter to see his shot inches wide of the post.

A marauding run by Luke Ingram found Michael Brothers just on the edge of the area, but his effort failed to test Waite as Needham were now relying on a counter-attack.

Despite a second half onslaught, Needham soaked up the pressure and defended resolutely.

Great credit must be given to Needham for their performance this evening.
