Needham Market Manager Danny Laws has been busy finalising further signings ahead of the first pre-season friendly scheduled for Tuesday 20th July at Trafford Park Wroxham. As well as the new strike partnership of Nathan Stone and Sam Newson the squad will include players that have signed contracts with the club, the full squad for Tuesday is:
Floyd Croll, Lewis Pemberton, Kevin Horlock, Rhys Barber, Pip Boyland, Jack Wilkinson, Ben Wake, Craig Parker, Jay Denniss, Bradley Barber, Danny Thrower, Jon Sparkes, James Evans, Scott Wilby, Nathan Stone, Darren Bethall, Sam Newson, and Jack Severy.
Regular 1st team goalkeeper Danny Gay, who has recently signed an extension to his contract with the club, is the only major absentee as he is in Barbados on a school Cricket Tour! Floyd Croll will therefore deputise.
Bradley Barber joins the club on contract from Felixstowe and Walton FC and is player both Danny Laws and his assistant Kevin Horlock recognised as Felixstowe’s “stand out” player in the four matches we played against them last season. He is a player that we helped re-habilitate from injury two seasons ago so he is no stranger to Needham Market FC and has settled in very quickly. Bradley is well known within the Ridgeons League having spent time with a number of clubs but is now looking to test himself at the higher level and with his cultured left foot the club has high hopes.
Scott Wilby also under contract, is a right sided player who had an outstanding game at Bloomfields last season in the colours of Haverhill Rovers, he finished the season at Mildenhall. Scott is a player that Danny Laws has known from his Cambridge City Youth days; he has a great personality and again he has settled in well within the squad.
The squad also includes former Needham Market FC player Ben Wake who is in pre-season training with the club hoping to show what he has to offer after a difficult time last season. Below are some pictures from pre-season training including the new guys.
